Why use classroom tools on the board?
Small routines take up a surprising amount of the school day. A visible classroom timer makes transitions faster because students can see exactly how long they have. A random name picker makes turn-taking fair and keeps every student ready to answer. A team scoreboard turns review, tidy-up time and teamwork into a friendly competition.
Each tool opens instantly in your browser, works on projectors, smartboards and Chromebooks, and has a Board mode that fills the screen. Nothing needs installing and there are no accounts. Class lists and scores are saved only in your own browser, so no student information ever leaves your device.
Tips for using tools on a projector
- Press Board mode (or the F key) so the tool fills the screen and the page around it disappears.
- Try the Contrast button if colors look washed out on an older projector or in a bright room.
- Use a presenter clicker or keyboard. Space starts the timer or spins the wheel, so you can run the class from anywhere in the room.
- Keep sound off until you need it. Sound effects are off by default; press M to switch them on for a timer alarm or a spin.
Use the tools with our games
The tools work on their own or alongside our classroom games. Use the scoreboard with the Quiz Board or Four Corners, the timer for Silent Ball rounds, and the name picker to choose who answers the next icebreaker or explains their Would You Rather vote.
